New Season!

Last weekend, I worked on the first wedding of the season for Gianna.
It was a wonderful wedding at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu Canyon.

Ceremony site: The hill overlooking the gorgeous wineries

Their escort cards were slates! Such a cute idea.

Reception site looked beautiful with hanging lights from the trees.

It really was a touching and beautiful wedding. Perfect one to start the season.
I'm ready for the upcoming weddings I'll get to work in this season. Let's do this!

Greystone Mansion wedding

Last Sat, I experienced a wedding at a famous Beverly Hills park, Greystone, as an assistant for Gianna.

It's a very beautiful venue with tons of history.
And they have killer stairs!! I think my butt got a little firmer...

It's a public park, so you're bound to have some extra audiences,
but it's a gorgeous outdoor venue.

This was my first day wedding to work for.
I learned that a daytime wedding can be done a little cheaper than a nighttime wedding
because you don't need heaters or lighting, etc.

The cutest thing about this day's wedding was the cake toppers!!
They had dog sculptures made out of chocolate, eating the cake.
Adorbs!!

This year's wedding season will be over with a this weekend's wedding.
It's a final sprint!!

Wayfares Chapel

As I promised myself, I visited the Wayfares Chapel, aka "Glass Chapel" this weekend.

It's located in the south end of Rancho Palos Verdes.
It took me about an hour to get there from LAX area.
Granted, it was a GOURGEOUS drive along the coast, yet it was a pretty long drive.
(I would definitely suggest a shuttle service if any of my future clients were to use this chapel for the ceremony.)

The chapel stands on the hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

As you walk in from the parking lot, you see the water fountain.
The glass building behind the fountain is the chapel.

The chapel is surrounded by gardens.
From the front garden, it looks like as if the chapel stands in the forest.
(Apparently, that was the architect, Lloyd Wright's intention. For details, read here.)

The view from the front garden is outstanding.

The chapel itself looked smaller in person.
But according to the staff, it fits 100 guests comfortably.

Small or not, the architecture of the chapel was beautiful.
I bet this is a great location for someone who wants a small and intimate ceremony.

It welcomes people with all religious background, including the same gender ceremony.
When I was there, one of the staff said to me,

"Yeah. We all have one god, right?"

I like that.

With the breathtaking view of the ocean, interesting architecture, and open-minded policy for different religious backgrounds, I get why this chapel is very popular among Japanese couples who want to get married in LA.

It's like the epitome of the Southern California wedding.

You are on it.

Last Saturday was the second wedding I interned for.

This time, the ceremony and reception were held at a restaurant Cafe Pinot.
It's located right next to the LA library in downtown LA.
The food is amazing and the cool atmosphere, being right in the center of the city, is perfect for someone who wants an "urban" wedding.

                                                                                                         (wedding by Gianna & Company)

This day, we had total of four interns including me.

                                                                                                                          (wedding by Gianna & Company)

It was a very simple setup and we had 4 hours to set the whole thing up.
So, frankly, I think we could've managed it with two interns.
BUT! Everybody here has the same dream as mine, and wants to learn, as much as I do.
So no complaints here.

Since we had many girls, if I relaxed a little bit, I could easily be just standing there doing nothing.
So, throughout the day, I was trying to shadow Gianna and find things I can do as much as I could.

In the mid-day, Gianna pulled me to the side and asked me

"Am I asking you to do too much?"

Me:  "Not at all!"

And then she said

"You're really on it. So I keep asking you to do stuff."

Now, that was really a nice compliment.

That took away my gloomy feeling I experienced at this thing.

That's right. I almost forgot.
I want to make this my career, because I LOVE doing this.

Maybe I'm not good at making a sales pitch about myself RIGHT NOW,
but one day, I'm sure I'll be able to conquer that, after having the experiences.

I AM PUMPED!!
